PROJECT OVERVIEW
The Community Court Yard (or "The Yard") is a not for profit social enterprise that focuses on youth support, and giving young people a safe space to play, work and hang out.
The Esports/FGC Nights are focused on 16+, and building a gaming community within Northampton

Personal focus: Tournament Organisation, Event Management and Community Building
PERSONAL INVOLVEMENT
As someone who lives and works in Northapton at the time of working on this project, I have lamented the lack of community and social events. Especially things for adults to do after 6pm that isn't going to the pub.
Being a part of the Fighting Game Comminity for a long time, I have decided to take initialtive and host a community hub for the FGC, with weekly events.
WORKFLOW
From 6:30-9:30 Every Friday, The Yard is open to the public for Casual and Competitive Gaming.
The core focus of these sessions are the competitive brackets held. With games like Super Smash Bros Ultimate getting a lot of attention.
There are 3 major elements to running this event.
The first is building a community and social media. I was able to successfully advertise the event in and out of the existing FGC Circles using Discord and existing connections, here I was able to reach a wide audience.
The second is creating and running the event bracket. Using Start.GG, I was able to create a tournament hub and events for every week. Allowing players to join our tournament bracket.
During the event itself, I am responsible for running the bracket and our community games night. This has allowed us to create a safe enviroment for 16+ adults to compete and play games.
This has been a major boost to moral and community in the Northampton and Midlands area, working with the community court yard and taking the initiave to host this event has been incredibly beneficial to my leadership skills.
